Where it runs

Eight platforms, one developer.

Every Apple device, from the Watch on your wrist to Vision Pro, plus Android phones and tablets and Windows PC. The same almanac on each. Your save and your purchase stay with the store you get it from.

The pets

Somebody has to keep you company.

Every trade has a pet, and so do the bosses. Each one is earned in play and keeps its bonus for good. Some of them are even awake.

Said plainly

What it does, and what it will never do.

Most game pages are a list of wins. Here is the list with the limits printed beside it, so you can tell before you download whether this is your kind of game.

Six things it does that the genre mostly does not

  • The wrist is a place to play. A real fight runs on Apple Watch, both swing timers and your familiar beside you, not a bar you glance at. Six Apple platforms, one purchase.
  • The game tells you whether you can leave. The Harbormaster's Forecast dry-runs your current fight across the whole offline window, then says whether you hold or fall and what the haul should be.
  • Twenty-four hours offline, at full speed. No throttle, no ad to claim it, no premium tier that doubles it. The math.
  • Sixteen languages at launch. In the box on day one, not patched in later and not left to community packs.
  • Free to try, then $9.99 once. Family Sharing is on, so the household is covered by the same purchase. Every price, on one page.
  • Built for VoiceOver and Dynamic Type. Reduce Motion, Increase Contrast, and Smart Invert respected, and state is never signalled by colour alone. This genre is an accessibility desert, and that is a poor reason to leave anyone out.

Three things it will never do

  • No mods. App Store apps cannot load third-party code. That is a rule of the platform, not a feature held back, and I will never imply otherwise. Everything in the game is in the game.
  • No cross-platform save. Your save and your unlock stay with the store you get the game from. Apple devices share one save through iCloud; the Android and PC versions each keep their own, and a purchase on one store does not unlock another.
  • No live presence. No servers, no accounts, no friends list of mine, no player counter. Nothing of mine is online, so nothing can report that you are.

Tideward is not built to keep taking your money. Every purchase is direct and one-time: you see exactly what it is, you pay once, and it is yours for good. No ads, no subscription, no loot boxes, no premium currency.

What it costs, and when

Nobody pays anything before launch day. The order of events, in full:

  1. Pre-order Free

Nothing is charged when you pre-order, and nothing is charged on launch day. The game downloads itself to your devices.

  2. TestFlight beta Free

Unlocking the full game costs nothing while you test. The purchase screen shows a price, but a beta purchase is an Apple test purchase: no money is taken, and it does not carry over to the App Store version.

  3. Android open beta Free

The whole game is open while you test, and nothing in it can be bought, so no money can be taken. When the Android version launches, the paid part of the game locks again until you unlock it.

  4. Launch day, February 11, 2027 Free to try, then $9.99 once

The download is free. One $9.99 purchase inside the app unlocks the rest of the game. You pay it once, only if and when you choose to.

The Tavern

Join the growing community.

Beta testers are already shaping the future of Tideward, and the pre-order is open on the App Store for everyone else. Come help build something special, TestFlight is capped at the first 1,000 testers, and the Discord is where the count gets called out and the conversation happens.

Tideward for Android is in open beta on Google Play, for phones and tablets running Android 10 or newer. It is free, every trade is open while you test, and nothing in it can be bought.

About the developer

Built by one dev who plays what he builds.

“I'm building the idle RPG I've always wanted to play, with deep systems, respect for your time, and zero compromise on privacy.”

Tideward is a solo project from North Carolina, written in pure SwiftUI, synced through CloudKit, and shipped without a single third-party SDK. No ads, no tracking, no growth team, just the game and the people who tend it.
