The Almanac · 56 pets

Meet the pets.

Tideward has 56 pets. Each one is earned in play, keeps its bonus for good, and has opinions. Tap one to say hello.

The tidepool crew, from our videos: Flotsam, Keel, Pilchard, Jetsam, Undine, and Fathom, eventually.

Trade pets

Every gathering and crafting trade has a pet that turns up while you work it, live or away. Higher levels mean better odds.

FlotsamTidepool crew

Naps. Wins.

Flotsam does nothing and gets everything. He sleeps through the whole show, wakes on the last beat, and somehow the haul is already in. He has also decided he loves the old boot nobody knows where to put.

Pets, asked

How many pets are in Tideward?

56. Every gathering, crafting and combat trade has its own, bosses and dungeons drop more, the Hearth keeps a few residents, and two follow Mastery itself.

Can you buy pets in Tideward?

No pet is sold for real money. Every pet is earned in play. The Hearth residents cost coins, and those coins are earned in the game too.

Do pets need to be equipped?

No. A pet’s bonus is on for good the moment it joins you. There is no slot to fill and nobody to swap out.

Can I find a pet while I’m away?

Yes. Trade pets can turn up during offline progress too, so a pet can be waiting with the rest of the haul when you come back.

Who is the tidepool crew?

Flotsam, Keel, Pilchard, Jetsam, Undine and Fathom: the pets you see in our videos. Flotsam is asleep. Fathom is late. Both, as usual.

Go find yours.

Tideward is out February 11, 2027 on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Vision Pro. Pre-order it on the App Store, or play the free beta now and start looking.
