Your privacy, plainly

The whole thing in one sentence

We don't collect your stuff. Tideward has no ads, no trackers, and no company server watching what you do. Your game lives on your device and in your own iCloud, where we literally cannot see it.

What happens to your game save

Your character, items, and progress are saved on your device and in your own iCloud (that's Apple's storage that belongs to your Apple account, not to us). We cannot open it, read it, or copy it. It's yours the way the photos on your phone are yours.

What we know about you

Almost nothing, and that's on purpose:

• We don't know your name, age, email, or location. The game never asks.
• No ads, ever. Nothing in Tideward is trying to figure out what to sell you.
• No tracking. The game doesn't watch what you do and report it to us or to anyone else.
• The game keeps a few notes on your device (like how long you played) to help us balance future updates. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can wipe them any time in Settings → Delete Local Data.

If you send us a bug report

There is a form in the game for telling us something is broken, or asking for something new. You never have to use it, and it only sends when you fill it in and tap the button.

What you write gets posted in public, on our Discord, where anyone can read it. So write it like a message everyone can see, because it is one. Don't put your real name, your age, your email, or anything private in the box.

A bug report also sends notes about your device and what the game was doing, so we can work out what went wrong. You choose how much with the Include buttons on the form: Everything adds your device, your app version, and a recent diagnostic log; Device only adds your device and app version but no log; Nothing sends just your message and nothing else. We never get your name or your email either way. If you send something and then wish you had not, ask a parent to email privacy@manugames.com and we will delete it.

Leaderboards (Game Center)

If you turn on Game Center, other players can see your nickname and score on Apple's leaderboards, that's what leaderboards are for. Game Center belongs to Apple, and you (or a parent) can turn it off any time in your device's Settings. If it's off, Tideward shows no leaderboards and shares nothing.

The one purchase

Tideward is free to try, and there is exactly one thing you can buy: the full game, once. No coins to buy, no loot boxes, no subscriptions, nothing that keeps asking for money. Apple handles the payment; we never see card numbers. If a purchase was a mistake, refunds happen at reportaproblem.apple.com, and it's completely fine to ask a parent to help with that.

About the artwork

Some of the creature and item pictures in Tideward were made with AI image tools and then finished by a person. We tell you because we think you'd want to know. The game itself has no AI in it, nothing you do in Tideward is ever sent to an AI, and the game doesn't generate anything while you play.

Deleting everything

You don't have to email anyone or ask permission. Inside the game: Settings → Delete Local Data (the on-device stuff) and Settings → Delete iCloud Data for Tideward (your cloud save). Two taps each, gone for real.

If something seems wrong

If anything about privacy in Tideward worries you, or you just have a question, email privacy@manugames.com. A real person reads it. If you're a younger player, it's a good idea to show a parent or carer too. And if you're in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your privacy regulator (in the UK, that's the ICO), though we'd love the chance to fix it first.
